Project H.A.M.M.E.R.

Project H.A.M.M.E.R.

The US is under attack from a horde of sinister robots, and players must take control of a powerful cyborg of their choice in an attempt to save the world from these evil robots. Project H.A.M.M.E.R. will essentially use the Nunchuk controller and the Wii Remote in order to negotiate around, and to attack respectively.

The Nintendo Description of Project H.A.M.M.E.R.

Killer robots are attacking major cities across the United States, and the military is powerless to stop them. Players control one of Project H.A.M.M.E.R.’s cyborg prototypes: half-man, half-machine, with an extraordinary weapon – and the power to save the world. Equipped with a hammer of amazing strength, players represent the only hope against an unstoppable army of marauding automatons. Players use the Nunchuk controller in one hand to maneuver through a variety of vast and detailed environments and the Wii Remote in the other just like a real hammer to control the hero’s weapon. Lift it into the air and bring it down to smash robots to smithereens.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

WarioWare: Smooth Moves is not going to be just a solitary game for the Nintendo Wii, rather the game will feature in excess of 200 (yes, 200!) mini-games, allowing WarioWare: Smooth Moves a potentially huge lifespan.

Not only does the package provide loads of games, but it will also utilise the Wii controller in lots of exciting ways. WarioWare: Smooth Moves is predominantly a party game, or a game which will be enjoyed by numerous players at once.

Official description from Nintendo

The WarioWare team took an idea so wacky, it could only be made with the latest technology… the Wii Remote. With about 200 lightning-quick microgames and controls that range from scribbling to flailing, WarioWare: Smooth Moves takes interactive gaming to a whole new level. All players need is a Wii Remote and their best moves to be the champ. With games that are as much fun to play as they are to WATCH people play, WarioWare: Smooth Moves brings the party to its feet. It’s hilarious for players and audiences alike.

Link is ordered by the mayor to attend the Hyrule Summit. He sets off, oblivious to the dark fate that has descended upon the kingdom. When he enters the Twilight Realm that has covered Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and is captured. A mysterious figure named Midna helps him break free. With the aid of her magic, they set off to free the land from the shadows. The last ray of hope for a dying realm, Link finds himself on an epic journey that will challenge him endlessly and transform him in ways unimaginable.

Wii could be released before the PlayStation 3!

Posted on Tuesday 13 June 2006

According to Revolved.net, the release of the Nintendo Wii could be earlier than expected. The article suggested that Nintendo may aim to fend off competition from Sony’s PlayStation 3 by releasing the console in October. This would mean that not only are Nintendo ahead in terms of the press received, but they may also be ahead of the PlayStation 3 for the pre-Christmas rush.
